ORTON PARK SUMMER DAY CAMP
Orton Park Camp is a unique, one-of-a-kind summer camp experience located in the heart of Madison, WI run out of Orton Park at 1114 Rutledge St. It is for children going into kindergarten through age 12 and sponsored by Big Oak Child Care.

Camp runs Monday through Friday, June 15 - August 21, 2026
There is no camp on June 19 (Juneteenth) or July 3 (Independence Day Celebrated)
Daily camp hours are 8:00AM-5:00PM
Registration for Summer 2026 begins February 16, 2026 at 11am.
Current Big Oak students and Orton Park alumni have priority registration beginning February 9, 2026. You should receive an email with a priority registration link on or before February 2.

2026 Session Camp Sessions
Session 1 | June 15th-26th (No camp June 19th)
Session 2 | June 29th-July 10th (No camp July 3rd)
Session 3 | July 13th-July 24th
Session 4 | July 27th-August 7th
Session 5 | August 10th-August 21st
2026 Tuition Rates
Sessions 1 and 2 (9 days each) | $675
Sessions 3, 4, and 5 (10 days each) | $750
All five Sessions | $3420 (5% discount)
A 5% discount will be applied to siblings of an Orton Park camper or Big Oak student enrolled in the same session.
Registration Details
A deposit of $100 per camper per session is due three days after receipt of the registration confirmation email. This deposit is applied to tuition and is not refundable.
Full tuition payments shall be made no later than 2 weeks prior to the camper’s first session, or established due date as applicable. Families may request an installment plan for multiple sessions. A late payment charge of $10 will be added to any late payments. Failure to make payments in a timely manner after this $10 fine will result in termination of enrollment and forfeiture of deposit. Any unfunded payments will be assessed a $20 fee plus any other applicable fees. Session fees are non-refundable after the due date. Tuition fees are not affected by, and not limited by, illness, camp closings, holidays or dis-enrollment due to behavior.
All fees paid for tuition are non-refundable and non-transferable.
OPC participates in WI shares, county and city assistance programs, and the UW CCTAP program.
Notes for Campers
Meals and Snacks | Orton Park Camp does not provide meals or snacks. Children bring their own lunches and snacks daily.
Field Trips | Orton Park Camp participates in at least one field trip per week. Field trips are usually scheduled for Fridays. Field trips may be subject to change.
Swimming | Our goal is to have campers swimming daily. This is subject to change based on water/waterfront conditions, lifeguard availability, and camp staffing.
Farmers’ Market | Orton Park campers walk to the Dane County Farmers’ Market on the 200 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. each Wednesday morning, weather permitting. Families may provide up to $10 cash per camper to spend at the market, if desired.
